WHO: Everyone is invited!

Drop Caphe public is invited to this weekly, Bluffton farmers market. The highlights are featured on our web site: www.FarmersMarketBluffton.com along with a list of our local Growers and Food Vendors. Local to us is South Carolina and Georgia.

June 2009: In celebration of “ International Children’s Appreciation Month” , we will bring back The Great American Bake Sale GreatAmericanBakeSale.com the fight in America to end childhood hunger.

Bluffton SC Farmers MarketJune 4: Along with our 30 plus local growers and food vendors, some of the new additions this year are local plant growers and sellers who will have a wide variety of native plants, herbs and shrubbery. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life for Bluffton will have information about the relay on June 5 please stop by their red tent and Beaufort Memorial Hospital will be conducting free health screenings all day. Music will be provided by “Bluffton Bluesman” Bill Dupont

June 11: The local produce will be fresh and plentiful harvested daily, tomatoes, butterbeans, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupes, sweet corn, and okra added to the growers menu for the summer to name a few. We now have 4 organic produce growers, meat, eggs, cheeses, honey, pasta and much more. The Master Gardeners with Laura Lee Rose will join us with gardening tips and answering questions all day. St Gregory’s Church will host a bake sale in our nonprofit tent.

June 18: Visit our website FarmersMarketBluffton.com for our calendar updates .Carol Murphy, Beaufort County’s recycling coordinator will be with us to educate the community about recycling. Nancy Riedel a local health and wellness educator joins the market this day, along with Lord of Life Lutheran Church having a bake sale. Food tastings and lunch will be provided all day by the local food vendors.

June 25: Our sponsors for the Farmers Market of the day will be First Federal Bank and Kinghorn Insurance, 2 local businesses caring about the local community connection with give-a-ways at their tent. The Great American Bake Sale will once again be a large part of this fun summer day hosted by Kimberly Tatro: Kimberly@lowcountrybusinesscircle.com. Kimberly raised awareness about childhood hunger in American last year at the Farmers Market of Bluffton and will be contributing with a wonderful variety of baked goods to raise money for The Great American Bake Sale. The Chilly Willy Band a local group will be our entertainment for the day.

As you can see June is full of family outdoor fun with LOTS of great produce to choose from, where else but the farmers market can one interact with the producer of your own food, you will know the integrity of what is on your table.
