The HHI Celebrity Golf Tournament
August 29 – 31
The HHI Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held on August 29 – 31. The Tournament provides funds for 18 Children’s Charities in Hilton Head, Bluffton & Beaufort.
The 2008 Tournament play takes place on Friday August 29 at the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall, on Saturday August 30 at Robert Trent Jones Course in Palmetto Dunes and on Sunday, August 31 at the Harbour Town Golf Links at The Sea Pines Resort. The Tournament is a 9am shotgun start each day and is open to public with free admission to the courses.
As an individual, twosome or foursome, golfers enjoy 3 days of golf with a different Celebrity & golf course each day. Players
may be substituted during the weekend.
For those who are not Golfers but want to mingle with the Celebrities throughout the weekend, packages are offered which include Friday & Saturday evening events packed with Celebrity entertainment at The Crowne Plaza Resort.
Early Celebrity confirmations include: Davy Jones from The Monkees, Catherine Bell from “Jag” & “Army Wives”, Legendary Recording Artist, Pat Boone, Comic & Juggler, Chris Bliss who made Internet History, Singer & Songwiter Paul Williams, Sports figures, Ken Griffey, Sr., Sam Jones, Rollie Fingers, Serge Savard, Mark Malone & Bobby Cremins. In the beginning, God created...
A celebration of the opening of the new Fine Arts Center at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic School on Beach City Road will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 6th and 7th. There will be an exhibit and silent auction of the Sacred Art created by fifteen professional local artists. This is the first Sacred Art Show in this area.
The goals of the event are to: raise funds for the new Fine Arts Center, raise awareness of the beauty and inspiration of Sacred Art, and to place Sacred Art in homes and Churches.
The exhibit will run from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Saturday evening, September 6th, and 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 7th.
Refreshments will be served and admission is free.

“Earth, Sky & Sea”

The Society of Bluffton Artists (SoBA) will present “Earth, Sky and Sea” , the artwork of Alicia Olea-Bell from August 11 through September 27, 2008.
Alicia Olea-Bell is a versatile painter from a family of artists, a grandfather muralist, mother poet and music composer. The composition of her paintings reflect their influence with a world of color, harmony, light and shadow. Alicia’s love and admiration for the sea have inspired the works in this exhibit reflecting the energy, beauty, power and fury of the earth, sky and sea.
The public is invited to a reception for the artist on Sunday August 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gallery where refreshments will be served.
