Equestrian News

Spring is well under way and the equestrians in the area are getting busier and busier.

ose Dhu Creek Equestrian Center couldn’t be more proud of three young ladies and their accomplishments. All three competed in the PSJ Winter Series III in Canterbury Florida. Caroline Roberson and her pony, “Woodland’s Morning Glory”, brought home a slew of fifteen ribbons. Caroline was Champion in the Large Pony Division, Reserve Champion in the 12-14 Equitation Division, first in the Palmetto Medal and first in the PSJ Pony Medal. She also successfully showed Nicole Palazzo’s “That’s A Wrap” bringing home a Reserve Champion in the Pre-Green Division. Laura McNair and “Ultimatum” racked up nine ribbons between the Children’s Hunter Division and the 15-17 Equitation Division, where she went Champion and Circuit Champion. And littlest but not least, Megan Doughty and her pony, “Play Money”, earned Reserve Champion for the weekend in the Walk, Trot, Canter Division as well as the Crossrails Division. Great show girls!!!

Star Ridge Stables is hosting a weekend Hunter/Jumper and Equitation clinic with Lee Cone on April 6th and 7th. Riders can participate for one or both days and auditors are welcome. For more information call Stella at 843-784-7845.

Rose Hill Equestrian Center’s Kaitlyn Neumann and “Pocket Change” have been traveling quite a bit lately. Their hard work is paying off. At the CHC Show in March, Kaitlyn took home 5 ribbons including a first in the Pleasure Pony Division. The next weekend she went to Aiken for the March Madness “A” show and won two firsts and three seconds in the Children’s Hunter Pony Division. We wish Kaitlyn the best of luck as she pursues a Zone 4 Finals qualification.
