illa Errazuriz is one of Chile’s leading fine wine producers. They consistently offer New World wines with elegance and complexity. After whole berry fermentation and an extended maceration, the Max Reserva is aged for 15 months. This aging process brings out ripe black cherry, plum and other dark fruit characteristics. With is firm tannins, yup I said firm, it could stand up to a nicely grilled steak topped with blue cheese and sautéed mushrooms, and onions to boot. Remember with this red wine and with all others if at first you don’t like the wine let it breathe, this will allow oxygen to get into the wine and subdue the tannins and more than likely the wine will show more of its natural characteristics and flavors.
