othing is more tragic or devastating to a horseman than a barn fire. Last month, Forest Grove Equestrian Center in Estill was destroyed by fire. Thankfully, no horses lost their lives.

This kind of loss affects the entire horse community. Take time to check the fire extinguishers in your barn, have a layout of your barn with telephone numbers of emergency services within easy access. Talk to your fellow horsemen about their plan and combine forces to help each other out in an emergency. Have a plan.
