Letter From The Editor
Donna Huffman
t always brightens my day when someone stops me on the street, just to tell me how much they enjoy the Bluffton Breeze. Well, my friend Rick, stopped by to see me the other day and told me how much his mother loved her Bluffton Breeze subscription. She lived in New York and came to visit her son in Bluffton quiet often. There was great distance between them but she felt a little closer through the pages of the magazine.
Rick had some sad news. He told me his mother had passed away, but he wanted to let me know she asked the Hospice care givers to pull their chairs next to her bedside and read the Bluffton Breeze out loud to her. My heart fluttered. I wept.
I have always thought this magazine was pretty special. Now, there is no doubt about it.

Letters to the Editor
Dear Donna,
Im writing on behalf of the Queen of
Bluffton, Shere Colborn, and Miss Estill Beach, Jill Roberts Gibbs, to say
thanks for honoring our 1988 Christmas parade appearance in your December
issue. What a great trip down memory lane for us! (And by the way, after
sixteen years, were still fabulous.)
Sandy Guhl
Miss Brighton Beach
Dear Donna,
I just finished going through the December issue.
It is absolutely awesome!!! Starting with the cover and carrying ALL the way
through, it is artful, thoughtful, inspiring. It all has the warmth of a
home-fire on a wintry eve. Donna, thanks for giving us this joy
every month. It touches us all. And we are better for it.
Stumblin Jimmy Watermelon
p.s. You are a mentor of
distinction.
Hi Donna,
My husband and I live in Aiken, SC. We are fortunate
to enjoy one of the All cottages in the All Joy community. A friend, who also
grew up summering in Bluffton, shared (okay, loaned) the November 2004 Bluffton
Breeze issue with us today. We delighted in reading memories of Miss
Annette whom my husband called Ma-Ma, the pronunciation of
which tended toward rhyming with the sound a goat makes. We wondered if there
may be 3 or 4 extra copies of this issue we might obtain to share with family.
We will be in Bluffton in the next few weeks and could arrange to pick them up
then if that were convenient for you.
Thank you for your kind consideration
of this request.
Peggy All
